The evening started off good with Jeff having a spirited battle for the lead for most of the heat race. In the he had to settle for second but was confident of his chances in the feature. Starting outside of row four in the feature Jeff wasted no time to get out front. Just after completing lap one Jeff hustled the #62 machine to the lead in turn two. From that point on it was smooth sailing as he opened up a sizable lead. Just after the half way point a caution came out bunching up the field but once again Jeff was able to regain his advantage. Nobody was able to mount a challenge as Jeff rolled his car into victory lane for the third time this season. Even with the great night he was not able to make up any points and continues to sit in second place, just two points out of the lead.

With just four races left in the season at Beaver Dam Raceway Jeff continues his quest for the 2010 Sportmod championship. Come out to the races this Saturday night August 21and enjoy the races.

The Performance Motorsports Sport Mods were racing for $350 to win. The heat races were won by Jeff Steenbergen and Kenny Richards.

The A Main saw Matt Bedker pace the first three laps. On lap 4, Richards would use the inside and slide past Bedker for the lead. One lap later Brian Besaw, the current point leader would move past Bedker for second. Steenbergen would get into the top 5 on lap number 7. One lap later he would move into fourth, the next lap he would move to third, using the high side, he would move to second on lap 11 and on lap 16 he would take the lead from Richards. Besaw would get by Richards on lap 20 of the 25 lap event for second, but didn’t have enough for Steenbergen who would go on to win the event. Richards would finish 3rd, Jesse Krahn would take 4th and Scott Besaw came home fifth. Steenbergen's clean sweep moved him to within 2 points of championship leader Brian Besaw.

We have a week off with the IRA sprint cars in action August 7th. We will be back on track August 14 at Beaver Dam Raceway as we continue our quest for the championship.
